Provide control over who can see the source information
Right now, if boards are shared, the only option is to "yes" share item details AND source info or "no" don't share either. Instead of grouping item name, sales price and quantity with the item source, we want the ability to always have item details (not unit cost of course) visible but decide on a person by person basis who can see the item source so we can prevent clients from "shopping around us."

I agree that we should be able to choose whether to show the source to the client or not as we see fit. I like the internal area that keeps the unit cost and notes private to the design team only. I have, however, noticed that the unit cost is not private on the IPAD. So when I show selling cost to a client on the IPAD, it also shows the unit cost.

Keeping it SIMPLE is definitely the key and a constant balance. Interestingly, Dee Ann's comment below is an example of where we, as a software company, need to make choices. There is no way giving anyone complete control over every single piece of information shared with different people could be "simple." We deal with dozens of support issues about the topic of "wait who can see what right now?" That would be exascerbated and extremely confusing for all of you if you had to remember "oh, I gave this person access to A, B and D but this person only has access to B, C and E and because this person doesnt have access to C and F they can't see the budget etc etc" You can see how this gets out of hand quick.
Our goal here is secure and simple, definitely. I feel I also need to mention two things:
1 - Our reason to be is NOT to just service the Interior Design industry. Sorry. That's where we started but we have a solid mix of event planners, graphic designers, photographers, even manufacturers using Wecora to communicate and plan.
2 - Our 2015 focus, as you saw from our email last week, is BUDGETING. You've been asking for it and that's where we are going. To do so means making pricing information visible to all so everyone involved in a project can "play with the numbers" to rapidly make decisions.
This feedback is GREAT so far and we will chime in every now and then to clear things up. Again, our goal is to develop a simple solution without a million options, checkboxes or choices so you can just get things done without worrying about every person's permissions.

Hi All,
I could swear this was how it was when I first signed up- it was a simple choice?
In fact, as I remember it, everything about this service was simple- which is why I loved it so much! The bottom line is, of course, the bottom line...
If Wecora's reason to be is still to provide this amazing service for Interior Designers, then the Interior Designer's need to have the power to decide what our clients see and don't.
Please just keep it simple-
We import images in the size and style we want to display them, and decide what information to provide to our clients in the way that is the most profitable for our business.
This keeps everyone happy and prosperous in 2015 and beyond!!
Thank you xoxoxox

I would like the source to be optional. I'm not as concerned with my clients shopping me on price so much as it encourages them to start doing web searches period. Once they start searching it opens of a can of worms leading to indecisiveness and confusion.

I'd like it to be a choice.

I would like the source to be optional. Many of the sites I use provide retail cost which I sometimes match. But, for the most part, hidden would be preferable.

I would love having the option to choose show to show the manufacturer. In the Interior Design world, clients shop us all the time. When I do a proposal, I provide the information needed for them to make an informed decisions i.e. dimensions, color, finish, fabric content, construction, etc. On the flip side of that I should not be required to show them where I am making the purchase or show the sku numbers. I try to put as much as I need in the notes section that is for me only but wouldn't it be that much nicer if we keep the information where it is programmed to go and then have the option to show or not! A drop down menu would be fabulous by each line item when you make the choice to share! This is similar to how I handle my business through Studio Webware which is a fabulous operation for the design community!

I agree with Brit. This is something that we have wanted as well. The more control we have over what the client sees the better.

All - to clarify source information will ALWAYS be visible to you. You will simply have the option of making it visible to the client or not.
As for unit cost, this information is NEVER, EVER shared with the client. It's simply not in the code in any client views. If you believe they are seeing the unit cost please contact us at support@wecora.com ASAP so we can look into this and figure out what's up.

I like the idea of having item source optional for client viewing but agree with others here that the source shall remain available to us at all times. I often will work with a client on my computer and have found the item unit cost is not hidden, so often I do not input that information. Is there a way around this?

I want source and cost items to be seen only by me. Then separate notes for clients eyes only - I'll decide on what to share. The benefit of your boards is to manage my own work flow when researching options for clients -- The board serves as a documentation of potential sources/prices. I eventually edit a board down to just those items I am recommending (perhaps saving an unedited board for my eyes only and for accessing during a revision.)

Since I'm the pest who has been requesting this, you guys know how I feel about it! Haha! Thanks so much for considering my request! Our team absolutely LOVES Wecora!
We definitely want to be able to continue to share the product title, client cost, quantity and notes (dimensions, etc), while being able to"hide" the source/link from the client while still having it saved within Wecora for us to use in-office (which makes purchasing so EASY for us once the client has selected their products!).
Thanks again! You guys are awesome!!

I would love to control who sees the source.

I like the idea to allow us to share the items details and the picture without sharing the source and the price. I would still like to get into the link to send pictures of the items to my client as we have images on our proposals for their approval.

Great idea to allow us to share item details without sharing the source, yet still have the source linked to the item for our reference!
thanks for listening and working out solutions!
