Descriptions help viewers to see what the collection of ideas you are sharing with them is all about.  You can say things like "Pick a option from this group to just give me a general sense of the style you're looking for for this or that" OR you could state things to let others know what they are seeing when viewing your boards via social media or your blogs like "check out these items I'm currently running a promotional price on."
